On Saturday, October 31, 2015, age 89. Beloved husband of 64 years to Ruth Brilmyer; loving father of George (Carleen), Steve, Mark (Vicky), Jeff (Terez), Patti (Doug) and Terri; also survived by 14 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Friends received Tuesday 4-8 p.m. at the SZAFRANSKI-EBERLEIN FUNERAL HOME, INC., 101 Third St., Carnegie. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church on Wednesday at 11 a.m. Burial with full military honors in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies. Bernie was a Corpsman (medic) with the United States Army during WWII. He worked at US Steel in the research department and later for Fisher Scientific as a salesman for over 30 years. A member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Choir, an avid golfer, past WJAS announcer, an avid lover of baseball and a graduate of the 1944 class of Gonzaga High School, Washington, D.C.
