Lee A. (Cholewinski) Furmanek

December 22, 2015

On Tuesday, December 22, 2015, of Duncansville, formerly of Rennerdale, Collier Twp., at her assisted living residence surrounded by her loving family. Lee was born in Carnegie, PA daughter of the late Antonia (Wojtowicz) and Walenty Cholewinski. She married the late Edward J. Furmanek on July 20, 1957. Surviving are a son, Mark (Michele) Furmanek of Tuxedo, NY; a daughter, Jean (Raymond) Lasinski of Duncansville, PA; two grandchildren, Jack and Elizabeth; a sister, Jane (late Norman) Jones; and a brother, Mitchell (Roberta) Cholewinski. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Edward and Stanley Cholewinski. Lee was a lifelong member of All Saints P.N.C. Church in Carnegie, PA where she was involved as financial secretary of the parish for many years, an active member of Spojnia, Polish National Union Branch 105, Sub-Central delegate for the Ladies Adoration Society of the Most Blessed Sacrament, member of the Bard, Pittsburgh Circle Choir and Parish Choir and the Church Auditorium Building Committee and tended the flowers around the church grounds, longtime member and past president of the Green Tree Garden Club and a former member of the Green Tree Women's Club, and a Carnegie Library Book Store volunteer. Friends received Sunday 2-4, 6-8 p.m. at the SZAFRANSKI - EBERLEIN FUNERAL HOME, INC., 101 Third St., Carnegie. Mass of Christian Burial in All Saints P.N.C. Church on Monday at 10 a.m. Interment in All Saints Cemetery. Lee loved gardening, reading, knitting, crocheting, working with stained glass, cooking, baking and spending time with her family and friends.
