Beloved husband of Lorraine Mizia; loving father of Walter (Jamie) and Steven Mizia; son of the late Jean Rose and Walter Mizia; proud grandpap of Tyler, Evan and Reese; brother of Linda, Michael and the late Gary and Charmayne. Walter was a retired Allegheny County Firefighter Lieutenant, a retired Navy Reserve Master Chief Petty Officer, a life member of the Fairview Volunteer Fire Department, Past Commander of the American Legion Post #290, a retired Pennsylvania State Firefighting Instructor, a member of Holy Child Roman Catholic Church, and a proud Vietnam veteran. Friends received Tuesday 2-8 p.m. at the SZAFRANSKI - EBERLEIN FUNERAL HOME, INC., 101 Third St., Carnegie. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Barbara Church on Wednesday at 11 a.m. Burial with full Military Honors in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
