Age 83, of Collier Twp., formerly of Heidelberg, on Tuesday, August 30, 2016. Beloved husband of Mary Alice (Davis) with whom he celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on August 4, 2016; father of Cheryl (James) Beadling, Tammy (Harry) Funk and William Norcik; grandfather of Keenan, Robert and Cody Funk and Russell, Randall and Daniel Beadling. Bill was born April 25, 1933, son of the late Walter and Mary (Vilish) Norcik. he was a 1950 graduate of Bridgeville High School where he played on the school's championship football team. He also played for the Heidelberg Soccer Club and earned a soccer scholarship to Penn State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree and was a member of Chi Phi Fraternity. He was a lifelong Nittany Lions fan, a US Army veteran. He served in Japan during the 1950s. Bill was retired productivity manager for Matthews International. He enjoyed spending time with friends and especially his family. Friends received Friday 2-4, 6-8 p.m. at the SZAFRANSKI - EBERLEIN FUNERAL HOME, INC., 101 Third St., Carnegie. Funeral Services will be held at St. John Lutheran Church, 601 Washington Ave., Carnegie on Saturday at 11 a.m. (EVERYONE PLESAE MEET AT THE CHURCH.) A committal service with full military honors will take place on Wednesday, September 7, 2016, at 1:30 p.m. in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. John Lutheran Church and to the Animal Rescue League Shelter and Wildlife Center, 6620 Hamilton Rd., Pgh., PA 15206.
