Edmund A. Gudewicz

Went to his eternal reward on Thursday, November 23, 2017. He was born in Glendale, PA, on June 14, 1933. His parents were the late Martin, Sr. and the late Sophia (Kowalski) Gudewicz. He was a brother to Emily, Martin J. (Nancy), Dorothy, Father John, and Richard Gudewicz; his nieces and nephews are Cynthia (Terence) Byrne, Thomas, Jr. (Jeanine) Schultz, Michael (Amy) Schultz, Kathleen (Thomas) Spray, Suzanne (John) Ruskin, Martin, Paul, and Jacob Gudewicz; his great-nieces and great-nephews are Lauren, Katelyn, Nicholas, and Daniel Schultz, Andrew, Meghan Byrne, Alexander, Henry Ruskin, and Morgan Schultz. He had many cousins and friends. He attended St. Ignatius Grade School, Scott Twp., High School (Class of 1951), and Robert Morris Business School. He served in the United States Army (Korea 1953-1955) with the rank of Corporal. He was employed at E.W. Coal Co., Cole Knox Mortgage, Western Pennsylvania Bank, Babst, Calland, Clements, and Zomnir, P.C. His interests were the Pittsburgh sports teams, especially the Penguins and Pirates, and he also enjoyed High School and College basketball and attended a few Final Fours. He daily did the crossword puzzles in the newspaper and played the solitaire games on the computer. He travelled to many places on vacation in the USA, Canada, Mexico, Caribbean, and Europe. Friends received Saturday 5-8 p.m. and Sunday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the SZAFRANSKI -EBERLEIN FUNERAL HOME, INC., 101 Third St., Carnegie. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church on Monday at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, 330 Third Ave., Carnegie, PA 15106.
