Died peacefully on Tuesday, December 19, 2017, after a long battle with cancer. He spent his final days surrounded by family. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. John is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Shirley (Zeock) Ryan; his two children, Daniel and Christine Ryan; a grandchild, Erik (Jennifer) Bailey; a sister, Colleen (Ryan) Sowden, and late brothers, James (late Barbara), Regis, Richard (Diane still survives) Ryan; brother-in-law of Ed (Carole) Zeock; also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. John graduated from Penn Commercial College in Washington, PA with a degree in accounting and retired from PNC Bank after working there for 43 years in the profit sharing and pensions department. John also served in the United States Army as an SP3(T). Family and friends will be received Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the SZAFRANSKI - EBERLEIN FUNERAL HOME, INC., 101 Third St., Carnegie.
