Peacefully on Thursday, October 12, 2017. Husband of the late Georgetta Salerno; father of Frank (Kathy), Thomas (Adrienne), and Joe (Laureen) Salerno. Mr. Salerno was the last of nine children. Also survived by grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Friends received Monday and Tuesday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the SZAFRANSKI-EBERLEIN FUNERAL HOME, INC., 101 Third St., Carnegie, where Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. Mr. Salerno was the past Fire Chief and a member of the Glendale Hose Company for over 70 years. A World War II veteran and a Purple Heart recipient. Firemen services will be held Tuesday evening at 7 p.m. Burial with full military honors in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
