Beloved husband of 54 years to Michalina Pituch; lovng father of Dr. Daniel (Diana), Henry (Tammie) and John (Christine) Pituch; brother-in-law of Michael (Lois) and Henry (Marion) Karbowski; grandfather of Alina, Alexa, Daniel, Amanda, Johnny, Emma and Katie; dear friend of Lucian and Stefania Godlewski. Panakhyda Service on Sunday at 5:30 p.m., Parastas in Holy Trinity Ukranian Catholic Church, on Monday at 10 a.m. Daniel's father John was born in New York and his mother Mary in Pittsburgh; after they married they moved to Poland to work as artisans in the family trade where their only child, Daniel, was born. Unfortunately, when he was seven his father became a casualty of WW II while serving in the Polish military. He himself eventually served in the Polish Air Force where he survived a near fatal wound. He returned after the war with his mother to the U.S. where he met his wife, Michalina, and established a family home in Heidelberg raising their three sons, Daniel, Henry and John. He enjoyed a career as an exceptionally talented mechanic and machinist with a flair for inventing elegant solutions to complex mechanical problems while at Teledyne, Bowman and Ingersoll Rand. He selflessly shared his gifts and talents with anyone in need and eventually passed those talents and sense of service to his three sons who continue to keep his legacy of compassion, and commitment to service of others alive. His sense of humor, charisma and big smile always lifted the spirits of those around him. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Daniel Pituch to the Shadyside Foundation, 532 South Aiken Ave., Ste. 302, Pgh., PA 15232.
