A retired captain of the City of Pittsburgh Firefighters, on Saturday, October 3, 2020 with his family by his side. Husband of the late Rosemarie G. Flavin. Loving father of Dan (Micky) Flavin, Patty (Mike) Gross, Kathy (Morgan) O'Brien, and Nancy (Dick) Crist. Grandfather of Danielle (Tom) Cenna, Brian Flavin, Diane (Ryan) Novosel, Brendan and Lauren Gross, Kaitlin (Bob) Roth, Jim (Becky) O'Brien, Dan (Sara) O'Brien, Matt (fiancée, Sara) O'Brien, and Colin, Corey, and Aaron Crist. Also survived by 11 great-grandchildren. Brother of Peggy Flavin and the late Thomas Flavin and the late Alice Ruhling.
Brendan was a member of the Knights of Columbus #939.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the SZAFRANSKI-EBERLEIN FUNERAL HOME, INC., where family and friends will be received on Tuesday from 2-7 p.m. at 101 Third St., Carnegie. Mass of Christian Burial in Corpus Christi Parish, St. Barbara Church on Wednesday at 10 a.m. EVERYONE PLEASE MEET AT THE CHURCH. Brendan will be laid to rest and reunited with his wife, Rosemarie, in Queen of Heaven Cemetery where he will be buried with full military honors.
Masks are required for visitation, Funeral Mass, and Burial.
