On Tuesday, August 25, 2020. Husband of the late Betsy Gruda. Loving father of Lisa (Dave) Carney, Ed (Jessie) Reiss, and Venus (Douglas) Barto; Proud Grandfather of Wes, Jacob, Jazmin, Brooke, Alayna, Marissa and Justin; brother of Alice Annesi, Sandy Lamb, Debbie Denardis and the late Donald (Mary Lou still survives) Gruda and Larraine Stevens.

Walter was in the United States Air Force for four years, stationed in Michigan. He liked living there and talked about it often. In his younger years, he loved to play soccer. He enjoyed spending time at their camp, Camp B&W (Betsy and Walt). He loved to go fishing. He would leave the house when it was still dark out just to get his favorite fishing spot before the sun rose. One of his favorite things to do was to watch boxing. He was a hard working family man who always had time to listen to our problems and always gave great advice. He will be dearly missed.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the SZAFRANSKI-EBERLEIN FUNERAL HOME, INC., where family and friends will be received on Friday from 4-7 p.m. at 101 Third St., Carnegie. Burial with full military honors will take place on Wednesday, September 2, 2020 in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
