Passed away at the age of 84 on Thursday, October 8, 2020. Beloved wife of 62 years to Gino Purchiaroni; loving mother of Joyce Purchiaroni, James (Donna) Purchiaroni and Frank (Anumzziatta) Purchiaroni; grandmother of Vanae Purchiaroni, Sadie (Brandon) Shea, James, Deanna and Ana Purchiaroni; great-grandmother of three; sister of the late Peter Shaffron; also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was a loving and caring housewife, seamstress, an amazing cook and baker, a walking memory book, lover of ducks and very social with her friends and neighbors. In her later years, she enjoyed doing crossword puzzles with her husband, Gino, online jigsaw puzzles and listening to mystery books.

Born on December 14, 1935, but at three years old, she had an uncanny resemblance to a young Shirley Temple (she loved that little tidbit about her). A student at St. Ignatius Catholic School for nine years and then a graduate of Scott Twp. High School, class of 1953.

She enjoyed various sports throughout her life, including roller skating, volleyball and 30 years of bowling with Gino on the “Adam and Eve Couple’s League”.

She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Arrangements entrusted to the SZAFRANSKI-EBERLEIN FUNERAL HOME, INC., where family and friends will be received on Sunday, October 11, 2020 from 2-6p.m. at 101 Third St., Carnegie. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church on Monday, October 12, 2020 at 1 p.m. Joanne will be laid to rest in Queen of Heaven Cemetery.

Masks are required for visitations, Mass, and burial.
