Clyde Pabst Schumm, Jr., known to friends and family as “Sonny” of Scott Township, Pennsylvania passed away on December 4, 2020, at the age of 77. He died at St. Clair Hospital with family by his side.

Clyde was a proud member of IBEW Local Union 5 and US Army Veteran who served during Vietnam. He will be remembered as a loving father and extremely bright, gentle, shy and funny soul. As his nurses can attest, his brilliant sense of humor and quick wit never ceased in making them laugh, even in his final days. He found solace in the wonder of nature and enjoyed NOVA & National Geographic, inspiring those closest to him to take care of the environment and pause to see God’s creation in everything.

Clyde was born and raised in Crafton PA was preceded in death by his parents Clyde Sr., and Irene Schumm and sister Patricia King. He is survived by Chari Schumm, his wife of 54 years, brother Richard Schumm and three adoring daughters: Dana Schumm of Dallas, TX; Courtney Blashka (Steve) of Solon, OH; and Jennifer Graham (John) of Newport, RI. He also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren, Jakob and Niko Smith and Oliver, Evelyn and Milo Graham, who were the joys of his life, along with cherished nieces Julie (Tim) Hager, their sons Chad and Brice, and Amy (Anthony) Bevilacqua.

A private memorial at Mount Lebanon Cemetery will be arranged by the family on a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to Tree Pittsburgh ( https://www.treepittsburgh.org/donate/ ), an organization he admired for their work in keeping the city he loved healthy and beautiful for future generations.
