On Thursday, July 15, 2021. Wife of the late Joseph Kientz; loving mother of Paul Jablonski and Janice (Chuck) Marburger; grandmother of Vincent Holland, Nicolas Mills and Terra Jablonski; sister of Lorraine Eglberger.
Mary Lou was a member of the Carnegie Rotary Club, Friends of Collier Township, Collier Township Parks and Recreation, Collier Township Historical Society, Pioneers West Historical Society, Carnegie Historical Society, and Bridgeville Historical Society. In addition, Mary Lou was a member of the Friends of Panhandle Trail where she participated in various trail events and was a "Rock the Quarry" volunteer. She was so active that there was a Mary Lou Kientz Day established in Collier Township on April 17, 2015. Mary Lou was a self taught professional artist and participated in countless art shows all over the tristate area and Florida. She helped the Three Rivers Arts Festival establish the Artists Market and volunteered and participated for many years. She was a talented ballroom dancer, winning several awards. She was very active in politics and coordinated numerous events and fundraisers along with volunteering at the voting polls. Mary Lou was passionate in her causes donating to political campaigns, Women's shelters and causes, Environmental causes, and many others. She had many "Letters to the Editor" that were published; so many that she was actually limited to the amount that were allowed to be published. Mary Lou dedicated her life to volunteering and helping others in their causes.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the SZAFRANSKI-EBERLEIN FUNERAL HOME, INC., where family and friends will be received on Sunday, July 18, 2021 from 3-7 p.m. at 101 Third St., Carnegie. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Monday, July 19, 2021 at 11 a.m. Mary Lou will be laid to rest in St. Joseph Cemetery.
