Catherine D. Kyle

September 9, 1920

December 18, 2021

Passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, December 18, 2021, at the remarkable age of 101: beloved wife of 64 years of the late Jack F. Kyle; daughter of the late Michael and Gertrude Fisher and the youngest of 7 siblings. Loving mother of Mary Anne (Bob) Kinzler, Jean (late Ken) Kozy, Jack (Pauline) Kyle, and the late Charles (Judy survives) and Donald Kyle; adoring grandmother of Mary, Chris, Anita (Pete), Donna, Chuckie, Amy (Mike), John (Shannon), Sue, David, John (Erin), Kelley, and the late Christopher; doting great-grandmother to Amanda (Dave), Kevin (Katie), Chuckie, Meghan, Madison, Jonathon, Benjamin, Tyler, Matthew, Joseph, Hannah, Ryan, Jacob, Holland, & Blair; and caring great- great-grandmother to Tommy and Aidan. She is also survived by many dear nieces, nephews, and friends.

Catherine devoted her life to her faith and her family. As a lifelong member of St. Luke Church and a member of the Christian Mothers and Guild, Catherine’s greatest joy was passing her Catholic faith on to her family. A legendary baker and talented cook, she was happiest visiting with the company who stopped by daily to share her zest for life, help root on a Pittsburgh sports team, experience her pretty flowers on the back porch, celebrate a birthday, or enjoy a delicious meal; always feeling welcome and surely never leaving hungry. A humble matriarch and faith filled role model; Catherine will be dearly missed by all who were lucky enough to know her.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the SZAFRANSKI-EBERLEIN FUNERAL HOME, INC., where family and friends will be received on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 from 2-8 p.m. at 101 Third St., Carnegie. Mass of Christian Burial will take place in St. Raphael the Archangel Parish, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church on Thursday, December 23, 2021 at 10 a.m. Following mass, Catherine will be laid to rest next to her husband, Jack, in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

Catherine's family requests masks be worn for Visitation and Funeral Mass.
