Age 74, of Rennerdale, Pennsylvania was called home by the Lord to celebrate his namesake’s birthday in Heaven on October 15, 2021.

Joe was born in Attleboro, Massachusetts on July 28, 1947. He joined the Army and traveled Europe playing baseball. Oh, the stories he told from his time there!

Later, he met his loving and devoted wife, settled down in her hometown and started a family. A carpenter by trade, Joe donned his blue jean overalls, plain white tee shirt, and work boots daily. He enjoyed taking his children fishing and never missed a game. A beach bum at heart from his younger years, he made sure to vacation by the sandy shores every year with his family. He could have written a corny, dad-joke book with what he had in his arsenal. Joe’s grandchildren brought him so much joy; he spent countless hours playing with them with such patience and cherished every moment.

Joe is survived by his wife, Kathleen; daughters, April (Joe) Kauer, Ashley (David) Bellone; son, Joseph (Crystal) Macari III; grandchildren, Teresa and Joseph Macari IV, Finn Bellone, Sophia and Elizabeth Kauer; sister, Cynthia (Joseph) Anton; brothers, Wayne (Judy) Everson, David (Lynne) Macari and Robert (Sandi) Macari. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Julie Macari, and brother, George (Donna) Macari.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the SZAFRANSKI-EBERLEIN FUNERAL HOME, INC., where family and friends will be received on Monday, October 25, 2021 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at 101 Third St., Carnegie. A blessing service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at 1pm. Burial will follow with full military honors at The National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
