Charles D. Vannosdel

September 23, 1952

August 26, 2021

Charles D. Vannosdel, our much loved “Chuckie,” and “Chuckles” passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 26, 2021. He is now at rest after battling a number of health challenges with courage and strength.

Throughout his life, Chuck enjoyed golfing and even once achieved a hole in one! He also loved to bowl, listen to doo-wop music, and to host epic gatherings and celebrations with his beloved late wife, MaryAnn. Chuck had an annoyingly keen wit and humor which will be greatly missed. He was formerly employed at Beth Shalom Cemetery in Shaler, PA. Chuck was devoted to all things related Pittsburgh sports – the Steelers, the Penguins and the Pirates.

Family was very important to Chuck. He is survived by his sister Marian (MaryAnn), his daughter Lisa Perkins, (Tom Gierczynski), nieces Casey and Shannon McLoon, and brother in law, Tom McLoon. He was “Pap Chuck” to grandson Jimmy, granddaughter Taylor Issac (Richard), and great granddaughter Ava. Additionally, Chuck also leaves numerous friends, aunts and an uncle, cousins and in laws. Everyone in his circle of family and friends gave Chuck the strength he needed to endure his health setbacks over the years and all are so appreciated including his special friends at Monroeville Health and Wellness. Chuck is preceded in death by his wife, MaryAnn (Hildebrand), mother, Evelyn (Macino) Vannosdel, father Edwin, brother, Edwin Vannosdel and sister, Sandy McLoon.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the SZAFRANSKI - EBERLEIN FUNERAL HOME, INC., where family and friends will be received on Saturday, September 11, 2021 from 1p.m until the time of the Blessing Service at 2:30p.m. at 101 Third Street, Carnegie.
