Eileen Joy Kane

Passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 25, 2022, of Scott Township. Wife of the late John T. Kane; loving mother of John (Rosa) Fleeher, Deb (Ray) Carter, Cheryl (Rich) Lutz, and the late Fred (Natalie survives) Kane; sister of Carmella (the late Gerald) Ainscough and her niece, Vicki Passaro, and the late Peg Etherington and Mae Kearns; also survived by eight grandchildren: Alison (Kevin) McGowan , Damian (Lindsey) Carter, Jason (Linda) Lutz, Angie (Brian) Pici, Michael (Deanna) Lutz, Rachael (Christopher) Schiavon, Brittany Kane, and William (Chelsea) Fleeher; 15 great-grandchildren: Carter, Ethan, Luke, Trey, Dylan, Gavin, Danielle, Sydney, Eloquence, Lily, Holly, Jaxon, Kimberly, Ella and Cooper; and many nieces and nephews.

Eileen Joy Kane was born on September 29, 1936 in Cecil Township as 1 of 3 children. Their father worked as a coal miner to support their family.

Eileen's eyes lit up when she talked about meeting her husband, John. It was in Bridgeville and she said that when she 1st caught sight of him she almost spilled her coffee! It was his looks and his smile. She knew it was love at 1st sight. They were married for 45 years.

Eileen and John raised 4 children and their family has also grown to include 8 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren as well.

Eileen worked as a bartender in the establishment that they owned as well as assisting in many projects of construction.

Eileen said she was the true representative of a 'boat person'. Her happiest times were on the Allegheny River with all of the friends that she made. They shared good weather, good times, and lots of laughs.
Along with boating and traveling the river by pontoon, she was also very creative and crafty. Her past hobbies were with ceramics, woodwork, and gardening.

Eileen said that she enjoyed the people and friendships she made at Prime Time and said she liked playing bunko, bingo, and the music and pet therapy times there.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the SZAFRANSKI-EBERLEIN FUNERAL HOME, INC., where family and friends will be received on Eileen's birthday, Thursday, September 29, 2022 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. to celebrate her life at 101 Third St., Carnegie. A Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, September 29, 2022 at 1 p.m. Following the Funeral Service, Eileen will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband of 45 years, Jack, in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
