On Thursday, November 23, 2023, at the age of 99. Wife of the late Walter J. Bielecki; beloved mother of Paul (Jeanne) Bielecki, Bernadine (George) Egg, Marlene (Charles) Conatser, and Daniel (Dorothy) Bielecki; loving grandmother of Emily, Matthew, Brooke, Jennifer, Rebecca, Kathy, Steve , Kevin, Sarah, Misty and Jonathan; great-grandmother of Brooke, Leo, Ben, Lillian, Gus, and Madison; sister of John "Janek" Mielcarek; preceded in death by 7 siblings: Steve, Eva, Stella, Józia, Joe, Matt, and Patricia; also survived by several nieces, nephews and many great friends.
Clara was born on October 23, 1924 in the West End neighborhood of Pittsburgh, PA to parents Valentine and Agnes Mielcarek. She enjoyed many adventures with her eight siblings in a house filled with love.
She was married to her loving husband Walter on January 22, 1948, a marriage that lasted 73 years. They raised their four children with help from a loving extended family in Glendale, PA. They belonged to St Ignatius parish, where all four children attended elementary school. Clara and Walter nurtured their family with loving discipline, equity, and their example.
Clara enjoyed keeping a meticulous house, gardening, cooking for her family, hanging the laundry outside, and competing at anything. She loved her role as a grandmother, took great pride in the accomplishments of her grandchildren, and was thrilled when she became a great grandmother as well. Even with all her family responsibilities, she found time to visit the sick and help family and friends in need.
She was bilingual and enjoyed sharing this knowledge by teaching her children and grandchildren and helping the choir pronounce words to Polish hymns. Clara loved to dance the polka, attend social events, and sing on three different choirs. She lived a full life, led by example, and shared her gifts and talents with all.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the SZAFRANSKI-EBERLEIN FUNERAL HOME, INC., where family and friends will be received on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 from 3-7PM at 101 Third Street, Carnegie. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in St. Raphael the Archangel Parish, Ss. Simon and Jude Church, on Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at 11:00AM.
