On Thursday, August 31, 2023. Husband of the late Alice Chraska; Loving father of John Chraska, Jacqueline Chraska, and Janet (Bob) Murcko; Brother of the late Gertrude McCall, Elizabeth Rothert, and Leo "Brud" Chraska; also survived by nieces and nephews.

John retired after spending 17 years at Shop 'N Save in Heidelberg. He was a member of the St. Anthony Lyceum, American Legion Post 565, VFW Post 7090. He was a proud Korean Vet having served with the 25th infantry. John was a 1949 graduate of North Catholic High School and a 1959 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the SZAFRANSKI-EBERLEIN FUNERAL HOME, INC., where family and friends will be received on Sunday, September 3, 2023 from 2pm to 6pm at 101 Third Street, Carnegie. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in St. Raphael the Archangel Parish, Ss. Simon and Jude Church, on Tuesday, September 5, 2023, at 10:00AM. Following Mass, John will be laid to rest next to his wife, Alice, in St. Ignatius Cemetery.
