On Tuesday, December 19, 2023, Age 96. Wife of the late Edmund R. Hans, Jr.; beloved mother of Diane (Gerard "Jerry") Donovan and Althea (late Fred) Kowalo; loving grandmother of Sean (Diana) Donovan, Kristy Matthews, Kelly (Dan) Stotler, Kara (Scott) Amorose, Frederick Kowalo, and Deana (Jeff) Safko; great-grandmother of Alexxa, Mariah, and Elijah Safko, Jenna Moran, Frederick Kowalo, Olivia and Liam Donovan, Adriana, Alyssa, and Aria Matthews, Kaylee and Kenzie Stotler, and Kendall and Brielle Amorose ; sister of the late Walter Kudorko, Amelia Mottaqua, Helen Malindzak, Adele Kudorko, Josephine Kudorko, Estelle Snyder, Juanita Gailewicz, Victoria Zandier, Eleanor Palastro, and Viola Coll; also survived by generations of nieces and nephews.
Althea lived a full and loving life. She had many happy years of marriage with her late, loving husband, Eddie.
She cherished her family: her children, her grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
In her more active years, she loved to go dancing with her friends, playing cards with her neighbors from Cloverleaf, and enjoyed weekly trips to the Meadows Casino. She loved her nightly calls from her niece, Ricki Shimon.
She will be lovingly missed by all.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the SZAFRANSKI-EBERLEIN FUNERAL HOME, INC., where family and friends will be received on Friday, December 22, 2023 from 3-7PM at 101 Third Street, Carnegie. A Blessing Service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, December 23, 2023 at 11:00AM. Following the Blessing Service, Althea will be laid to rest next to her husband, Edmund, in Robinson Run Cemetery.
