Daughter of the late Mary Julia and Nicholas DeThomas; wife of the late John Kizik; sister of the late Grace (late Richard) Pello, Lawrence (late Dorothy) Thomas, and Arthur (late Adeline) DeThomas; dear friend of the late Louis Kontz; also survived by generations of nieces and nephews.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the SZAFRANSKI-EBERLEIN FUNERAL HOME, INC., where family and friends will be received on Friday, September 22, 2023, from 2-7PM, at 101 Third Street, Carnegie. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in St. Raphael the Archangel Parish, Ss. Simon and Jude Church, on Saturday, September 23, 2023, at 10:00AM. Following Mass, Rita will be buried next to her husband, John, in Holy Souls Cemetery.
