Mary (née Lydon) Kyne, 97, passed away on Sunday October 1, 2023.  She was born on June 10, 1926, in the village of Poreen, Spiddal, County Galway, Ireland, the daughter of the late Daniel  and Bridget (Connolly) Lydon . She was the oldest of three children—a sister, Bridget “Bridie,” who died in 2018, and a brother, Daniel (Nora), who died in 2023.

Her beloved husband of 38 years, Edward, predeceased her in 1990.  She is survived by her three loving children: Mary Theresa (the late Donald) Hall; Patrick Joseph (Patricia) and their children Ann (Connor) Harrington and Andrew; and Bridget Ann Breslin (Henry) and their children Kristen and James. Mary was the aunt of Mary (David) Kolski, Nora (John) Colucci, Daniel (Renee) Lydon and the late John (survived by Lori) Lydon.

Mom enjoyed knitting, crocheting, cooking, baking Irish bread, listening to Irish music, and spending time with her family.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the SZAFRANSKI-EBERLEIN FUNERAL HOME, INC., where family and friends will be received on Thursday, October 5, 2023 from 4-7PM at 101 Third Street, Carnegie.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in St. Jude Parish, Sacred Heart Church, 310 Shady Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA, on Friday, October 6, 2023 at 10:00am.

Following Mass, Mary will be laid to rest next to her husband, Edward, in Calvary Cemetery.
