On Monday, October 21, 2024. Husband of the late Catherine Opczynski; loving father of Debra (Paul) Mirich; proud grandfather of Jason (Melissa) Mirich and Dr. Katherine Mirich (Todd Janas); great grandfather of Emerson Mirich; Stepbrother of Marianne Holland, Evelyn Gossic, Michalene, Stanley, Robert, and Albert Opczynski; godfather of Mary Jo Abernathy.

David was a fun loving guy who was adored by all he crossed paths with. He was always smiling and sharing his contagious joy. Lover of family, sweets, his car (and washing his car), westerns, exercise, Port Wine, his 86 inch TV, Pittsburgh Steelers/Penguins/Pirates, Kansas City Chiefs and of course all the wonderful times he enjoyed with friends. He will be missed by many and forgotten by none. He is most likely dancing a polka in heaven right now!

The family would like to thank the staff of St.Clair Hospital in unit 5G for the care and compassion given to David.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the SZAFRANSKI-EBERLEIN FUNERAL HOME, INC., where family and friends will be received on Thursday, October 24, 2024, from 3:00pm - 8:00pm at 101 Third St., Carnegie. A Blessing Service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, October 25, 2024 at 11:00am. Following the Blessing service, David will be laid to rest next to his wife, Catherine, in St. Ignatius Cemetery with full military honors .
