Roy was employed by the former Drake Bread Company which is now Schwebel's delivering bread. He was affectionately known to all as "The Bread Man."

"Pappy" Roy was a man of many talents and hobbies, from playing poker til 4am at the Rivers Casino, learning stocks and studying financial markets at the library after a long day on the bread truck, to becoming a licensed diamond broker, his life was short from ordinary. R.H., as known by friends and many around the card table, was a pleasant and wise man. His kindness and selflessness reflected through everyone he came across. He was a giving and teaching Father and Grandfather, a heartfelt husband, and a genuine provider. The happiest moments of his life were spending time with his grandson, Christopher. Roy is now having the time of his life with his savior, Jesus. From the true words of his first wife, Stella, "Roy was not only a gentleman, but a gentle man."
