Rose M. Colantoni
May 30, 1940
October 29, 2025
Peacefully on October 29, 2025 in Prospect, KY, surrounded by the love and prayers of her family. She joins in eternal rest her beloved daughter, Marie Pechet, and her parents, Guido and Maria Mariano, her baby sisters Rosina, Angela and Antonietta, and her best friends Agatha McCauley and Ann Marie Gajski.
Those who knew Rose will remember her warmth, strength, and quiet grace. She was a woman of deep Catholic devotion whose rosary was never far from her hands and whose heart was always open to others.
Rose was the wife of Henry, her beloved husband of 64 years; the devoted mother of Anthony Colantoni, Linda Stasiowski, and the late Marie Pechet; proud mother-in-law of Tiron Pechet and John Stasiowski; adoring Nonna to Aidan, Julian and Amanda. Rose treasured her brother Louis (Josephine) Mariano and sister Josephine (Harvey) Volzer and felt blessed by her many in-laws, nieces and nephews.
Rose held a special place in the hearts of friends and neighbors, who often said that when they were with Rose and Henry, they felt like family. She was an exceptionally talented seamstress whose hands could turn fabric into works of beauty, a gifted cook and baker who found joy in making meals and memories for people around her table, and a woman whose beautiful smile and open door made her home a respite.
Born and raised in Campolieto, Italy, Rose came to the United States at the age of 17, bringing with her the values of family, faith, and hard work. Rose’s legacy lives on through her model of kindness and the traditions she passed down. Her recipes, stories, and the lessons she taught will continue to nurture her family for generations.
Her family wishes to thank her caregivers, Stephanie, her son Samuel, and the team at the Hallmark House for seeing Rose for the extraordinary woman she was and treating her with compassion.
Her family takes comfort in knowing that her gentle soul has found peace in God’s heavenly kingdom.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the SZAFRANSKI-EBERLEIN FUNERAL HOME, INC., where family and friends will be received on Friday, November 7, 2025 from 3pm-7pm at 101 Third St., Carnegie. A Mass of Christian Burial to honor Rose's life and faith will be held in Archangel Gabriel Parish, Holy Trinity Church on Saturday, November 8, 2025 at 10:00am. Following Mass, Rose will be laid to rest in Resurrection Cemetery.
