Geraldine A. "Gerry" Kowalo

November 9, 1938

November 20, 2025

On Thursday, November 20, 2025. Beloved wife of John "Ace" Kowalo; loving mother of Richard Wayne Kowalo, Christina Lynn Kowalo, Dawn (Len) Iorio, and the late Gregory Kowalo; proud grandmother of Melissa (Dennis Abrams) Kowalo, Alaina (Cade Watters) Iorio, and Anthony Iorio; sister of Marsha (Steve) Walters.

Gerry loved playing bingo (“Bingo Gerry!”), dancing to polkas (“Polka Gerry!”), cheering for her Pittsburgh Steelers, indulging in chocolate, and—most of all—enjoying all of these things with her family and friends. She will be missed terribly, especially by her beloved pups, Teddy and Karli.

Proud of her Polish heritage, Gerry kept everyone laughing with stories about “Stushu” and “in the alley with Schventi.” Her tales and songs were legendary—made even funnier when she would, on occasion, sneak a highball or two when Ace wasn’t looking.

Gerry never left the house without being dressed to the nines: hair done, outfit perfect, always polished and put together. Above all, she adored her grandchildren. One of the most fun, lively, and loving people you could ever meet, Gerry will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the SZAFRANSKI-EBERLEIN FUNERAL HOME INC., where family and friends will be received on Sunday, November 23, 2025 from 1pm-5pm at 101 Third St., Carnegie.

A private family Blessing Service will be held. Gerry will be laid to rest in St. Ignatius Cemetery.

A very special thank you to the staff Good Samaritan Hospice, especially Colleen, Diane, and Lexi, for the exceptional care and compassion extended to Gerry.
