On Monday, September 15, 2025. Son of the late John and Stella Maleski; brother of Lorraine (late Robert) Herge; Uncle of Jim (Christy) Link, Jeff (Terry) Link, and the late Linda (Jeff survives) Leskovic; also survived by great nieces, nephews, and cousins; best friend of Bobbi and Jim Henry and Christine Wolk; John leaves behind his pet parrot, Ramona, and his amazing and caring neighbors.

John was a humble man, a devout catholic, and very proud of his polish heritage. He was one of the last surviving members of the St. Ignatius Polish Choir. He enjoyed traveling with the choir to share their Polish hymns all over Pittsburgh. His favorite holiday was Christmas, he loved everything about it. John enjoyed life to the fullest. He had the best sense of humor with an infection laugh and always had a good joke. He was in a bowling league for years and had plenty of trophies to prove it. John was employed by the Salem Furnace Company, as a buyer.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the SZAFRANSKI-EBERLEIN FUNERAL HOME INC., where family and friends will be received on Tuesday, September 23, 2025 from 3pm-7pm at 101 Third St., Carnegie. John's cousin, Rev. John Gudewicz, will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Raphael the Archangel Parish, Ss. Simon and Jude Church on Wednesday, September 24, 2025 at 10:00am. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
