On Thursday, November 6, 2025. Peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, leaving behind a legacy of compassion, service, and kindness that touched countless lives even in death. Loving mother of Malisa (Edward) Silassy and Jimmy (Erin Sunderlin) McDonald; Grandmother of Raeann, Elizabeth, Jena Monet, Riley James, and Addilyn Grace; sister of William (late Colleen) Riley; Godmother of Michael Riley.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt who cared deeply for those in her life. Though her journey with family took many paths, her love and pride for them were constant. She valued every opportunity to connect, encourage, and support the people she loved.

Susan spent much of her career serving others as an EMT and through her work in emergency services. Her calm strength and quick action brought comfort and hope to those in their most difficult moments. She had a heart that could never turn away from someone in need, always ready to lend a hand, a kind word, or a listening ear.

Outside of her work, Susan found joy in simple, beautiful things. She loved tending her flower gardens and was also a devoted animal lover who supported numerous cat rescues over the years. Her beloved companions, Karma, Shadow, and Nutmeg, brought her daily comfort and companionship.

But more than anything, Susan loved people. She was fiercely loyal to her friends and made everyone she met feel seen, valued, and cared for. Her laughter, warmth, and generosity will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Susan’s life reminds us of the beauty of serving others, loving deeply, and finding joy in everyday blessings.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the SZAFRANSKI-EBERLEIN FUNERAL HOME INC., where family and friends will be received on Sunday, November 9, 2025 from 1:00pm until the time of Funeral Service at 3:30pm at 101 Third St., Carnegie. Interment is private.
