On September 27, 2025 at St. Clair Hospital. Born March 10, 1953 in Philadelphia, PA. Son of the late Clarence J. Whitaker and Rose C. (Deavers).

Dewey graduated from Quakertown Community H.S., Quakertown, PA in 1974.

Dewey worked at numerous restaurants in the Pittsburah area. He worked at The Blue Flame Restaurant and at Mitchell's Fish Market and Seafood Restaurant for many years.

He loved recording old TV shows and could be seen always carrying a video camera in his younger years. He loved Star Trek and other Sci-Fi shows.

Dewey married Marie E. (Janora) on June 18, 1994.

He is survived by his wife Marie E. (Janora) Whitaker of Mt. Lebanon, PA, brother James L. Whitaker of Whitehall Twp., PA, brother Thomas M. Whitaker of Kaneohe, HI, and nephews Curtis and Brandon Whitaker of Hawaii.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the SZAFRANSKI-EBERLEIN FUNERAL HOME, INC., where family and friends will be received on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, from 2pm until time of funeral service at 4pm at 101 Third St., Carnegie. Burial will take place in Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery, Nanticoke, PA on Thursday, October 2, 2025 at 1pm.
