February 9, 1940
October 28, 2026
On Wednesday, October 28, 2026, surrounded by her family. Daughter of the late Lawrence and Dorothy Thomas; Beloved wife for 67 years of Alexander (Bunty) Makar; loving mother of Michelle (Mark) Hilty and the late Marilyn Makar; Proud Granny of Amanda (Neil) Cridge, Todd (Samantha) Hilty and Lucas Hilty; Memaw of Kylee; sister of Lawrence (Carole) Thomas and the late Richard "Dickie" (late Joyce) Thomas; sister in law of the late Ronald (Mary survives) Makar; special aunt of Greg (Lori) Makar; also survived by generations of nieces and nephews. Bebe also leaves behind her beloved dog, Crosby.
Marilyn was one of the proprietors of L. Thomas Body Shop and Towing, Inc. She was the most loving, generous, and kind person one could know. She worked 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and could always be found with a phone in her hand, continually dedicated to her beloved family business. Marilyn was always generous to her beloved family. She provided them with opportunities and gifts that made their lives so fulfilled in ways that would never have been possible without her hard work and generosity. Marilyn was always willing to provide for family and friends whenever they called on her in need. She had a strong, Italian work ethic inherited from her parents. When she was taken ill, she never complained. She worked up until a few months before her passing, giving all she had to the family business. She never focused on herself. Her legacy will be the example she set in giving to others, putting others before oneself, and family above all.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the SZAFRANSKI-EBERLEIN FUNERAL HOME, INC., where family and friends will be received on Tuesday, November 3, 2026 from 3:00PM - 7:00PM at 101 Third Street, Carnegie. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in Corpus Christi Parish, St. Barbara Church, on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, at 1:00PM. Following Mass, Bebe will be laid to rest in Holy Souls Cemetery.
The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to Dr. Nicolette Chiesa and all of the AHN Hospice caregivers. A special thanks to Kelly Loney, and Bebe's niece and nephew, Lori and Greg, for their gentle, loving care in her last weeks of life.
