June 25, 2026
On Thursday, June 25, 2026, Kathleen M. “Kate” Pratt passed away surrounded by the love of family and the memories of a life beautifully lived.
Born to the late Joseph and Edna Koczaja, Kate carried warmth, kindness, and laughter everywhere she went. She found joy in life’s simple pleasures, afternoons spent thrift shopping for hidden treasures, long lunches filled with stories and laughter, and the deep bond she shared with her sister, Donna. Their time together was one of the greatest gifts of her life.
Kate also cherished traveling to Florida each winter with her beloved husband, Ron. Some of their happiest moments were the quiet sunrise breakfasts they shared on the beach, watching the sun come up over the ocean while enjoying each other’s company. Those peaceful mornings reflected the love and comfort they built together through the years.
She was the beloved wife of Ronald Pratt, devoted stepmother of Rhonda (Wyatt her “favorite son-in-law”) Perko, proud grandmother of Chloe, loving sister of Donna (Ed) Webster, and cherished aunt to generations of nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her faithful and beloved cat, Otis, who was never far from her side.
Kate will be remembered for her gentle heart, her sense of humor, her caring spirit, and the way she made ordinary moments feel special. Her love for family, friendship, and togetherness will remain with all who knew her.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the SZAFRANSKI-EBERLEIN FUNERAL HOME, INC., where family and friends will be received on Monday, June 29, 2026, from 2-7pm at 101 Third St., Carnegie. A Blessing Service will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at 10:00am. Following the Blessing Service, Kate will be laid to rest next to her parents, Joseph and Edna, in St. Barbara Cemetery.
