On Thursday, April 16, 2026. Daughter of the late Harry and Laura Steiner; Beloved wife for 60 years of Donald Tristano; Sister of the late Rose (late John "Jack") Eberlein; sister in law of Evelyn (late Richard) Stover, late Elizabeth Goden, and late Clara Spencer; Aunt of the late John (Mary survives) Eberlein, Paul (Diane) Eberlein, late Alan Eberlein, Dana (Rich) Reiger, Adam Stover, Eric Stover, late Craig Goden, Tim Spencer, Michael (Tammy) Spencer, Donald Spencer, and Kathi (late Richard) Purdy; also survived by additional generations of nieces and nephews.
Minnie was a strong-willed woman and wouldn’t hesitate to let you know how she felt but was always there if you needed something. She loved to drive and be in control! She was a good person. She had a close bond with her sister, Rose. They loved talking on the phone about Arlene’s cooking show. She liked planning trips to Florida and Sugar Creek, Ohio, she loved to go there. She was an excellent baker and loved to make Christmas cookies, thumb prints, nut horns, and buckeyes. She never liked to pass her recipes out but was more than happy to make her dish for you if you bought the ingredients. She was employed at Horne’s warehouse in Crafton for years, with Rose and Alan. She also worked as a cashier at Sam's Club in Robinson for 10 years.
While she and Don didn’t have any children, their nieces and nephews were loved as their own children and grandchildren. At Christmas, she would wrap every single gift individually, all the way down to wrapping bubble gum so the kids would have lots of presents to open. She looked forward to taking her God daughter, Dana, back to school shopping, always ensuring she was the best dressed kid at school. You could always count on her to have a video recorder and camera in hand to document all the special moments in her family’s lives. She loved to go on picnics to Conneaut Lake Park with the kids and go to the Spillway to feed bread to the fish. Then they would head to Seaworld in Ohio for a fun filled day watching Shamu and getting splashed when they would make him jump high and splash down in the huge pool of water! Minnie and Don moved across the street from John and Mary in the West End so they were only a short walk away from their family. If John was working night shift they would head across the street to keep Mary company, often sitting at the dining room table playing cards. All the kids loved to have them babysit because they knew they were going to watch movies and get sugared up with lots of snacks and maybe if you were lucky, you got to take a trip down to Anthony's to pick out some more candy. Minnie and Don supported all the kids in their sports, attending games whenever they could. The kids would actually look forward to coming home from vacations because she and Don would decorate their houses with welcome home banners, balloons, and gifts. After Don retired, they moved to Florida for a few years eventually returning to Pittsburgh to be with family.
