Barry A. Deems

Age 81, of Upper St. Clair, on Friday, June 27, 2025. Formerly of Bridgeville, PA. Survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Joyce (Wroblewski); daughter, Melinda "Mindy" (Deems) Isles of Grove City, PA, and Barry Deems, II (Ingrid) of West Simsbury, CT; sister, Patricia Breen of Cecil, PA; grandchildren, Makenna, Maryn, Caleb, and Genevieve. Barry was preceded in death by his father, Allen Merle Deems, Mother, Mary B. Deems, sister, Carol J. Deems, and Brother, Kevin R. Deems.

Barry earned his BS in Business from the University of Pittsburgh, School of General Studies in the evenings and a Master's Degree in Business (MBA) from Duquesne University. Barry worked for the University of Pittsburgh for 2 years, Presbyterian University Hospital for 3 years, Mercy Hospital of Pittsburgh for 16 years, and West Penn Allegheny Health System for 24 Years. After retiring from West Penn Hospital, he worked as a Facility Consultant to St. Clair Hospital for 9 years contributing to the design and construction of many of the new services including the Peters Township Outpatient Center and the Dunlap Family Center.

Barry also served in the U.S. Air Force and PA Air National Guard for a total of 32 years having retired in 1997 with the rank of Command Chief Master Sergeant E-9, from the Pennsylvania Air National Guard, the highest enlisted rank attainable in the military. He received numerous awards and decorations while serving.

Barry was most proud of his family and grandchildren. He was a devoted husband and father, and he will be greatly missed. We will always treasure our fond memories and will deeply miss his love and presence in our lives.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the SZAFRANSKI-EBERLEIN FUNERAL HOME, INC., where family and friends will be received on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, from 3-7pm at 101 Third St., Carnegie. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place in All Saints P.N.C. Church on Thursday, July 3, 2025, at 11:15am. Following Mass, Barry will be laid to rest with full military honors in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
