On September 23, 2025, quietly at home, surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Judy, children Karen (RJ) Hadley and Tom (Amy) Dempsey, grandchildren Skye, Ashley, Hannah, Sarah, Will, and Mack, and great grandchildren, Noah, Nathaniel, Rory, Finnley, Reed, Tucker, and Hadley. He is also survived by his brothers Paul Dempsey, David (Peggy) Dempsey, Michael Dempsey and Sister Debra (Thomas) Astarita and a generation of nieces and nephews.

Tom was born July 16, 1940, in Newark, New Jersey. Son of Veronica and Thomas Dempsey, Sr. and moved to East Orange, New Jersey. Tom worked for National Gypsum Company for 40 years.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the SZAFRANSKI-EBERLEIN FUNERAL HOME, INC.

Per Tom's wishes, there will be no public visitations.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in Resurrection Parish, St. John Capistran Church on Friday, October 17, 2025 at 11:30am. Burial will follow with full military honors in The National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
