On Wednesday, September 10, 2025. Father of Brian (Hannah) Olstein; Former spouse and best friend of the late Carol Olstein; Proud Pappy of Kaitlyn (Shane) Zozos, Trevor Buttermore, and Rowin Olstein; Great grandfather of Wesley Zozos; brother of Phyllis Lickert, Jim (Mary) Olstein, Rick (Stacey) Olstein, and the late Francis Olstein, Cecelia Belohlavek, Josephine Post, Janet Villa, Theodore Olstein, and William Olstein; also survived by generations of nieces and nephews.

Joe could be found every Wednesday at the Carnegie American Legion listening to the band and dancing. Joe was known as "Butch" to his friends and family, but his favorite thing to be called was "Pappy Joe." Pappy Joe adored his three grandchildren and great grandson.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the SZAFRANSKI-EBERLEIN FUNERAL HOME, INC., where family and friends will be received on Saturday, September 13, 2025, from 3-7pm at 101 Third St., Carnegie. An American Legion service will be held during visitation at 6:00pm. A Blessing Service will take place in the funeral home on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at 6:30pm. Joe will be laid to rest with full military honors in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies on Thursday, September 18, 2025 at 1:30pm.
